On June 28 at the Rotary Southlake Club, our very own president Pranali Vora outlined the goals, achievements, and initiatives of Y4N.
She specifically highlighted how the organization strives to ignite interest and participation in neuroscience among the youth through educational programs and community outreach activities.
Neuroscience Exploration Event:

Youth 4 Neuro hosted their first neuroscience exploration event for 25+ middle schoolers at the Richwoods Clubhouse in Frisco, TX. The students engaged in 3 activities aimed at enriching their neuroscience understanding:

Using multi-colored play doh to represent the different parts of the brain

Constructing a spinal cord out of paper

Candy neurons to understand the function and structure of neurons

Mental Health Awareness Event:

Through our mental health seminar, participants of all ages had the opportunity to:

learn about mental well-being through interactive and stress relieving activity stations

engage with origami fidget toys, expressive writing, and more
-
listen to guest speakers and psychology professionals who discussed psychological phenomenon and current issues
Chipotle Fundraiser: 3/9/2024
Youth 4 Neuro had their first in-person fundraising event at Chipotle where 33% of sales donated to our cause. We had a huge success with over $60 being raised towards our efforts. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported!

Y4N 2024 Neuroscience Research Competition: 3/2/2024
Youth 4 Neuro successfully launched their first research competition with over 150 participants accumulating a total of over 352 research hours. Participants conducted research in various neuroscience topics and showcased their findings in slideshows and posters to present to judges. A huge thank you to the following judges for making this possible: Dr. Joseph Fink, Dr. Merel Dagher, and Dr. Fei Du. Learn more about the judges here. Children's Health Toy Drive: 12/22/2023
Youth 4 Neuro partnered with the Children's Health hospital to support and encourage children during this holiday season through a toy drive. We were able to donate a total of 168 items including board games, card games, stuffed toys, coloring supplies, and much more! Additionally, members and volunteers had the chance to create handwritten cards for children in the hospital.
Card & Bracelet Making Event with Titan GirlUp: 12/19/2023
Youth 4 Neuro hosted an event with Titan GirlUp at Centennial High School to allow students to create thoughtful cards and bracelets. These were then donated to the Children's Health Hospital along with other toys and items.
Youth 4 Neuro at the PrePair Stem Fest: 8/19/2023
Youth 4 Neuro had the opportunity to present at the PrePair Virtual STEM fest on 8/19. We were able to promote our mission and Y4N as an organization. Youth4Neuro x Med Dreamers Neuroscience Webinar:
8/6/2023
Our very first neuroscience webinar was a big success, brining together over 30 members worldwide! Speakers Dr. Kent Ellington and Dr. Cynthia Austin from UT Austin Dell Medical School provided fascinating insights into the complex world of neuroscience. Our members were able to explore clinical neuropsychology pathways and brain sections through Dr. Austin's informative presentation on neuropsychological evaluations. Stay tuned for future events!
Y4N @ Girls for Business Conference: 8/6/2023
Youth 4 Neuro had the opportunity to present information regarding how to build a passion project along with alumni from prestigious universities. We were able to inspire many middle and high school girls by navigating them through the process of creating a passion project!
